November 1, 1955 – September 15, 2026
Patrick Crowley, affectionately known to many as “Uncle Pat,” passed away on September 15, 2026, at the age of 70. He was born on November 1, 1955, in Jamaica, New York, and grew up in Oceanside, New York. His childhood summers were spent in Cornwall, Connecticut, where he created memories that stayed with him throughout his life.
Patrick dedicated 35 years of his life to serving the community as a career firefighter in Danbury, Connecticut. His commitment to his profession and to helping others was an important part of who he was, and he took great pride in his years of service. If there was one quality that truly defined Patrick, it was his generosity—sometimes to a fault. He had an incredible ability to make people feel cared for and was always looking for ways to give to others, whether it was his time, his resources, or simply an opportunity to bring people together. His generosity extended well beyond his immediate family.
Patrick loved including the families of his fellow firefighters in the experiences he enjoyed. One of the many examples of his giving spirit was the times he rented party buses to take firefighters and their children to the circus, making sure everyone could enjoy a day of fun together. He never seemed to hesitate when it came to creating an experience or making a memory for someone else.
He also looked forward to his yearly trips to the Big E, another tradition that brought him great enjoyment. Patrick loved attending train shows and was an avid coin collector, but the things he enjoyed most were often made better when they could be shared with family and friends.
His nieces and nephews, Christine, Kerri, Kathleen, Dennis Jr., Kevin Jr., and Karen, held a particularly special place in his heart. Patrick loved taking them on vacations and creating memories with them. As “Uncle Pat,” he was the kind of uncle who made sure there was always something to look forward to and a story to tell afterward.
Patrick was also infamous on Halloween for his legendary generosity and was known for handing out buckets filled with king-size candy bars, making his home one of the most anticipated stops in the neighborhood. It was a perfect reflection of his personality: Patrick simply believed in giving people more.
Patrick is survived by his brothers, Dennis (Gale) and Kevin, and his nieces and nephews, along with extended family, friends, and the many firefighters and families whose lives he touched. He is preceded in death by his parents Cornelius and Geraldine Crowley and his brother Neil.
Patrick will be remembered for his 35 years of service and the countless memories he created for those around him. Most of all, he will be remembered for his enormous heart and a generosity that knew few limits. Patrick gave freely, loved deeply, and made sure the people around him had a good time. His generosity, thoughtfulness, and larger-than-life spirit will be deeply missed.
