Paul Joseph Kusen, 71, passed away peacefully in his home with his loved ones by his side on August 1, 2026. He was born in East Meadow, Long Island, NY at Meadowbrook Hospital on Christmas Day 1954. He moved with his family to New Fairfield, CT in 1963, later moving to Danbury, CT.
Paul is pre-deceased by his father Peter Kusen, his mother Caroline Kusen, and his brother Michael Kusen. He is survived by his brothers and sisters Ken Kusen, Eileen Salvador, Karl Kusen, Mary Giandalone, Nancy Hughes and Mark Kusen. He is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews, 13 grand-nieces and nephews and one great grand-niece.
Paul was a lifetime member of St. Edward's Catholic Church beginning as an alter server and later teaching religious education. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and donated over 100 pints of blood to the Red Cross. As an Eagle Scout with Troop 42, he enjoyed outdoor hiking and skiing, teaching his nieces and nephews as well as taking them to amusement parks.
Calling hours will be held Monday, August 10, 2026, from 5pm - 8pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, August 11 at 10:30am at St. Edward's the Confessor Church, 21 Brush Hill Rd., New Fairfield.
Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, CT-Route 37, New Fairfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be chosen by you in honor of Paul.
