

Paul was born in Danbury, CT, a son of the late Paul G. and Julia Balogh Kovacs. He attended Danbury Schools and was a 1959 graduate of Henry Abbott Technical High School in Danbury. After graduation, he served in the National Guard stationed at Ft. Dix, New Jersey.
Paul joined the family business, Paul Kovacs Tire Shop in Danbury, where he spent more than forty years. Paul was an entrepreneur and loved working with his family operating several local businesses including Advanced Stone, Inc. (ASI) gravel bank in New Milford until his retirement.
A New Milford resident for over twenty years, he was a previous resident of Newtown and Brookfield. Paul was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Brookfield and the Masonic Lodge #40 in Danbury. He was a volunteer with the Dorothy Day Hospitality House in Danbury.
Paul enjoyed boating and jet skiing on Candlewood Lake. He also spent many seasons at Montauk, Long Island, boating on Long Island Sound and drove cross country in 2007 with Buni.
Besides his parents, Paul was predeceased by his brothers, Robert G. Kovacs and Roger P. Kovacs.
Besides his wife of 57 years, survivors include his children: Connie Ann (Glen) Brescia of Bethel, CT; Paul B. (Teri) Kovacs, Jr. of Danbury; and Christopher Kovacs of Monroe, NC. His grandchildren: Connor (Lita Skinner) Brescia, Brooke Brescia, Joseph Kovacs, Lily Kovacs, Azura Kovacs, Malia Kovacs and Eric Kovacs; his sister-in-law, Linda Kovacs, of Danbury as well as his nieces and nephews also survive.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00am on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Wooster Cemetery, 20 Ellsworth Ave., Sec. 17, Danbury, CT.
Friends will be received from 1:00pm - 4:00pm on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
