Paul is survived by his loving wife, Clare (Foye); and his four cherished children: Caroline, Paul, Aidan, and Erin. Paul is also survived by his parents, Joan and Phil Messuri; and his siblings: Joan Marie Monahan (Matt), Philip Messuri (Donna), Jackie Klensch (Peter), and Alex Messuri (Monica). Paul was adored by his many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind Clare’s family, that loved him like a son and like a brother, especially Dr. Jerry Foye, his father-in-law.
Paul was born in the Bronx on February 6, 1966, and grew up in Bedford Village, NY. He went on to graduate from New England College where he played lacrosse and built lasting friendships with his teammates. Paul married the love of his life, Clare, in 1994 and they raised their family in Danbury. Paul’s love and passion for lacrosse lasted his lifetime and resulted in him running the Danbury Youth Lacrosse League for many years. He enjoyed nothing more than coaching and watching his children play all sports. Family was his life and devotion.
For the past 17 years, Paul worked at Custom Bandag, where his loyalty and commitment to his job was recognized by anyone who worked with him.
Paul was magnetic, funny, and a force to be reckoned with. He had a quick wit and could always make you laugh. Far from unassuming, Paul was the definition of a big personality, and could hardly be missed when he walked into a room or onto a field. Sadly, he will now be greatly missed by his family, his many friends, colleagues, and the children whose lives he enriched with his coaching.
