Paul or “Murph” as he was affectionately known, was born July 25, 1952, in Danbury, CT to the late Charles J. and Mary (Ginty) Murphy. He passed away Friday, January 21st at Danbury hospital after a short illness.
He graduated from St. Peter's School and the Electrical Dept. at Henry Abbott Technical School in 1970.
Paul worked for Omaha Beef before starting his own business, P. L. Murphy Electric. He then became an electrical inspector for the City of Danbury. Currently, he was working as a planning estimator and plan reviewer for Roger Electric in Danbury. Paul also taught continuing Education Classes for area Contractors for Fred Mertz's IQ Electrical Training West School.
He was an active member of the Electrical Craft Committee, at Henry Abbott Tech, for over 25 years and an active member of the CT Chapter of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors. He was also a certified Electrical Inspector and held a Master's CT E1 Electrical License.
As an avid NASCAR fan, Paul's favorite pastime was all things racing whether watching on TV or attending the Daytona 500 which he did for many years. He was always proud of his Irish Heritage, had many colleagues and friends, and truly enjoyed the life he was given.
Paul was a great brother and a true friend who touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara of Brookfield, aunts, many cousins, and his best friend and constant companion, Newman, his German Shepherd
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Feb 2, 2022, at 10:00 am at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, 138 Candlewood Lake Rd, Brookfield, CT
Interment will be in St Peter's Cemetery.
