

Peter F. Setaro, 100, of Southbury passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Regional Hospice Center in Danbury, Connecticut. He was the husband of the late Christine (Rubino) Setaro, whom he was married to for over 66 years.
Peter was born in Danbury, a son of the late Frank and Bernice (LeRoy) Setaro. He attended Danbury High School and served with the US Army during WWII.
Peter owned Setaro’s Moving & Trucking Company in Danbury until his retirement in 1986. Peter and Christine lived in Bradenton, FL, for a number of years before returning to Connecticut. He loved animals and the great outdoors, and often spoke of his young days trapping and hiking in the woods where Immaculate High School now stands.
Peter had been an avid athlete before he was seriously injured at a young age which put an end to his sports activities for the rest of his life. Despite that injury, he made his living moving furniture for the next 30+ years.
In addition to his late wife and parents, Peter was predeceased by his son-in-law, Barney Hathaway; and his brothers: Frank (Babe) Setaro and Michael (Dodd) Setaro. Also his grandson-in-law, Brian Schultz.
His survivors include his children: James Setaro (Karen) of New Milford; Carol Hathaway of Portland, OR; and Frances Cain (Michael) of Lafayette, CA His grandchildren: Shana White (Chris), Berny Setaro Clark, Nina Setaro, Russell Clark; and five great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, October 1, 2021 at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bethel with the Rev. Gregg Mecca, Pastor of St. Peter Church, Danbury.
