Piedade Simoes

Maria was born in Lousa, Portugal, the daughter of Jose Rodrigues and Maria de Piedade Carvalho. She moved to the United States in January 1948 with the love of her life.

Maria’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She enjoyed hosting holiday dinners where she served traditional Portuguese meals. Maria’s children and grandchildren were always stopping by where they would be welcomed with a meal and a smile.

Maria was predeceased by her sister, Maria, brother, Manuel, grandson, Ernest Krompinger, and son-in-law, Gary Dinho.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Alice Dinho, Lucille Simoes, and Diane Alves and her husband, Jose; her grandchildren, Lisa Almeida and her husband Peter, Mark Alves, Steven Krompinger, Jeffrey Dinho, Chris Alves and his wife Alexa, Jason Dinho and his wife Rachel, Jessica Castro and her husband Felipe, and Jaclynn Alves; her great grandchildren, Brianna and Justin Almeida, Seth Krompinger, Evan, Mackenzie and Kylie Alves, Gabriel and Gavin Castro, and Cecilia Alves.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30AM on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 149 Deer Hill Ave., Danbury, CT. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury, CT.

Friends will be received from 4:00 - 7:00pm on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT.
