Richard was born in NYC, NY, the son of the late Henry Arnold and Josephine Arnold (Dirato).
Richard was a US Army veteran and served from 1961 through 1963.
He spent his entire career working for Union Carbide Corporation, relocating with them to Danbury, CT in 1980 and retiring in 1999.
He was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn in 2020.
He is survived by his four sons, Glenn (Dawn) of New Milford, CT, Craig (Sonia) of Stormville NY, Keith of Watertown, CT and Bryan (Joanne) of Danbury CT. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren, Kara Laake (Eric), Garrett (Carli), Matt, Zachary, Evan, Ryan, Julia, Stephen, Kaylee Byrne (Dylan), and Nathan. In addition to his children and grandchildren, he leaves behind seven great grandchildren, John Paul, Michael, Mary Grace, William, Elizabeth, James and Juliette as well as his sister, Joan McGill of Chicago, IL.
Services will be private.
