Richard was the co-founder of the family-owned and operated Danbury Septic Tank Service established in 1968. Rich's favorite pass times were watching Yankee games as well as the New York Giants and NASCAR events. Rich could be seen cruising around town in one of the many classic cars in his collection or attending national street rod events with his loving wife Muzzy and Rocky. Some of the best memories were spent on the field while coaching his children's baseball teams in addition to bowling, and being a part of many clubs such as Fairfield County Street Rods and the Americo Vespucci Lodge. Spending winters at his family home in South Carolina are memories that he and his family will hold onto for a lifetime.
Rich leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years Carole "Muzzy" Mazzucco Chiarella, son Richard J Chiarella II (Halaia) son, Philip S Chiarella and grandson Drew J. Chiarella. Rich also leaves behind his brother-in-law, Phil Mazzucco, Sister in law, Betty Dunikowski (Bob) in addition to many "Favorite" nieces, nephews, and friends. Rich is predeceased by his brother William J. Chiarella, Uncle Ralph, and Aunt Millie Chiarella.
