Robert M. Ferri
October 10, 1948 – January 11, 2021
Robert Matthew Ferri, age 72, of Bethel, CT, peacefully passed away on January 11, 2021, surrounded by his beloved wife and family.
Born on October 10, 1948, in White Plains, NY, he was Margaret and Henry Ferri's eldest son. Robert grew up with his three brothers and a sister in Silver Lake, NY. On September 11, 1983, he married Mary O'Connor of Norwalk, CT; together, they raised four beautiful children; April, Amanda, Christopher, and Robert.
Robert was drafted into the United States Army, where he served in the Vietnam War and was a recipient of a Bronze Star Medal.
A lifelong musician, Robert is remembered fondly as a founding member and lead singer of the musical group The Enchanters. With his immense love for music, Robert and his family spent his final moments listening to some of his favorite artists. His love of music could only be outdone by the love he had for his family.
A man of deep and profound faith, he attended Mass daily, prayed often, and loved generously. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, a loving father, caring grandfather, loyal brother, and a mentor to many.
Robert is survived by his wife, Mary; his children; April, Amanda (Kim), Christopher, and Robert (Christi); his grandchildren: Faith, Grace, and O'Connor Furey. In addition, he is survived by his brothers: Bernard (KC), Ronald (Barbara), Richard (Jim), and his only sister, Lisa.
Robert is predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Henry Ferri, his aunt, Marie "Mamie" Boerio, and his grandmother, Anna "Baba" Boerio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Church in Bethel at the convenience of the family.

Rob was a close friend when I was in my twenties. I saw him go through disappointment and heartache trying to find his way to a lasting relationship.
I remember when he met Mary and he was all aglow with possibilities.
I felt happy that he met someone who could love him the way he deserved to be loved.
We lost touch through the years with families, moving etc but I always looked back with affection at the times we spent together driving through White Plains in the evenings talking for hours.
I am happy that his life with Mary and the kids turned into his dreams.
God bless you all. He is a huge soul and I’m sure he’s watching.

Rob was a mentor and a friend; a loving father and husband who cared deeply for those he loved. While our paths diverged a few years ago – we stayed in touch and I enjoyed catching up over a cup of coffee or burger. He took a chance on an introverted young man, hiring me in to a sales position I had no experience with, and over many years helped me grow in not only my career but also into the person I am today. Rob always had a story to share and the secret of a great story is you can also learn from that experience; and that is what Rob did every day with those all around him. I will miss those stories – whether they be about his time at Caldor’s or Toys’R’Us, boat trips on the lake, the Yankees, or a million other life experiences he had. Most of all I will miss his friendship, his willingness to listen and help, that can’t be replaced. Thank you for Rob for all you did for me and my family – you will be missed.

Dear Mary,
I was saddened to hear you had been ill and that your husband had passed. I am so sorry for your loss. I didn’t know him, but from what I read he sounded wonderful. Musical, religious, just love it! I pray you and your family have terrific memories that in time will bring a smile rather than tears.
Fondly, Isabel

Dear Cousin Robbie
We are devastated of your loss. I always looked up to you as my most coolest cousin. I was proud of you when you left to support your fellow Americans in Vietnam. Working at Blimpe sandwich shop in white plains. The Enchanters how awesome was that. Your a talented and wonderful person. Your family is so proud. I become sick with covid on Dec 31 and still recovering. You were in my prayers and thoughts when I was told you were in the hospital. I’m so sorry .
Love Cousin Guy

As I reflected on Rob’s passing, I realized I didn’t know him as well as I could have. He was a quiet sole, but those waters ran deep. I remember conversations at family gatherings, around the campfire at White Lake, or at our house on Christmas Eve. He was a loving father, who adored his family and all the wonderful moments they spent together. He was a contributor, always willing to help. He is in a better place, joined by all the loved ones who have passed before him. I wonder, are there Ford Mustangs in heaven? Ride on Rob! We love you.

Rob was always very nice to me when I came to visit but the way he and my granddaughter Sansa just took to each other from the day they met was truly special. He told her she could call him Papa and she was so thrilled with that. She spoke of him and “Mimi” often and loves you both very much. I love you all dearly and I’m so profoundly sorry for your loss
