He was born in Bridgeport on August 6 1970, son of Bob Wirtig and the late Rae Wirtig. Robbie graduated from Naugatuck Valley Technical College and studied health and fitness at ISSA. He worked for many years as a custodian for the Danbury School System, were he made many good friends. He loved NY sports teams and was an avid fan of the Yankees, Rangers and Giants. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.
Robert is survived by his father Bob Wirtig, his sister Melissa, her husband Michael, many cousins and good friends.
Friends and family are encouraged to call to Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St, Danbury, Connecticut 06810, Sunday, February 27, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for condolences. A memorial service will occur Sunday February 27 at 3:00 p.m. at Green Funeral Home.
