Rosalie Ferris McDonald

Lee was the daughter of N. George and Rosalie A. Ferris (nee Najjar). Lee is survived by a daughter and daughter’s husband, Heather and Dan Richey of Colorado, and two grandsons; and her brother, Roger Ferris of Danbury. She had two brothers who predeceased her: Ronald G. Ferris of Tucson, AZ, and Richard F. Ferris of Montpelier, VT.

Lee was a lifelong resident of Danbury. She attended St. Peter School, Danbury High School, Dean Junior College, and Boston University, where she majored in child psychology.

She made many dear friends and many acquaintances, and as a quilter she took joy in making quilts with special meaning for family and friends. And then there was Lee’s kitchen, a frequent gathering place for friends and family. There was ongoing conversation, uproarious laughter, and a generous helping of coffee and a little-something she just took out of the oven. She enjoyed cooking and baking and we enjoyed partaking or her culinary skills.

Lee’s compassion for people could be seen in her support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and her frequent donations to Connecticut animal shelters. Selfless and kind, Lee will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, mom, and friend.
