Rosemary A. (Kelly) Marczewski, a longtime resident of Prospect CT, and more recently of Ridgefield CT, passed after a long illness. She was born to John Redmond Kelly and Vivian (Dennen) Kelly in 1941 in Queens, NY. She attended Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee MA, earned a Master’s Degree from Fairfield University, and completed her Sixth-Year Diploma at Southern Connecticut State University.
A devoted teacher, Rosemary spent her career in the Social Studies department at Ridgefield High School. Well into retirement, she proudly hung Christmas cards sent by former students each year. She volunteered extensively with many organizations including the Center for Civic Education, St Anthony’s Church in Prospect, the Prospect Republican Town Committee, and served for multiple terms on the Region 16 Board of Education.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents and her brother John Kelly of Vernon CT. She was married for many years to Thomas Marczewski, and is survived their son, Charles Marczewski of Perrysburg OH, daughter Melissa and son-in-law Joshua Bennett of Ridgefield CT, her grandsons Kyle Crocetto and Lennon Marczewski, and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Monday December 3rd from 9AM-10:15AM at Green Funeral Home, Danbury CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at Saint Elizabeth Seton Church, Ridgefield. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ridgefield.
