

She was born in Kostheim-am Main, Germany on February 2,1932 to Wilhelm and Elisabeth (Roos) Heilmann. She is predeceased by her parents, and sisters Charlotte Anspach and Helena Hammer.
Ruth met Joseph Bogues in 1953 at their common workplace, the US Air Force base in Wiesbaden. They married in May 1954, and moved to Danbury CT in September of that year. They celebrated 48 years of marriage before Joe passed away in 2002.
After raising her children, Ruth went to work in retail, spending the majority of those years selling jewelry in major department stores for Finlay Fine Jewelers.
She was a bright light for her family, including children: Joan (Mark) Roby, Pattie (Roy) Yannes, Karen Bogues, Michael (Janice) Bogues, Sharon (David) Wrabel. Her 8 grandchildren: Janet, Craig, Jason, Chris, Erica, Zachary, Sarah and Alyssa; and 9 great- grandchildren.
After the death of her husband, Ruth moved to Burlington CT with Sharon & David Wrabel and their children. She loved her time with Sarah and Alyssa, who taught her how to use her iPhone, puzzled and watched videos.
Ruth loved to bake, read,and knit. She spent many winters walking the beach on the Florida Gulfcoast, and summers on vacation with her family in Martha’s Vineyard MA and Emerald Isle NC.
Her children would like to thank Sharon, David, Sarah and Alyssa Wrabel for sharing their love, laughter and life with her for 19 years. They would also like to acknowledge the staff at Riverbend in Farmington for their loving care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026 at St. Joseph Church, Danbury, CT with the Rev. Eric Silva, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury, CT.
Friends will be received from 9:00am - 10:30am on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT.
