
Born in San Miguel, Azores, Portugal to the late Joseph and Maria Couto Moniz, she immigrated to the United States in 1950, settling in Danbury. Formerly with Federal Fur Co. and Capital Machine Co. in Danbury, Sesaltina was most recently with American Radionics, retiring in 1986. An active member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Danbury, Sesaltina was a former member of the Portuguese-American Club. A loving and devoted grandmother, she lived her life for her family.
Besides her parents and her husband, who passed away in 1988, Sesaltina was predeceased by her siblings: Alvaro Moniz and Jose Moniz.
Survivors include her daughters: Maria Custodio and her husband, Antonio, of Seia, Portugal and Danbury, CT; and Margaret Antunes and her husband, Manuel, of Bechtelsville, PA, formerly of Danbury. Her beloved grandchildren: Daniel Custodio, Philip Custodio, Jason Antunes, Josh Antunes and Jeffrey Antunes. 12 great grandchildren also survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Danbury with the Rev. Jose Britto-Martins, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
Friends will be received from 9am-10:30am on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT.
