Sheila C. Dolan

Sheila was married to John D. Dolan, Sr., who predeceased her. They celebrated their lives together with their children, family and friends at their welcoming homes in Bethel, CT, Candlewood Trails New Milford, CT and Hillsboro Beach, FL. Sheila owned Lavender & Lace, a lingerie store, which also provided mastectomy supplies and would travel to women’s homes as a Certified Mastectomy Fitter if they weren’t able to visit the store and after she closed her shop. She also contributed to local organizations including the bazaar at St Mary School and The Junior League.

Surviving are her children: Deirdre Dolan Nesline (David); Geraldine Dolan Brady (Chuck); Maura Dolan McCarthy (John); and John Dolan, Jr. (Stephanie). Her grandchildren: Kiely, Brianna (Michael), Grace, Megan, Amanda (Ryan) , Alanna, John III; and great grandson, Lucas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends she considered family survive her.

In addition to her husband and parents, Sheila was predeceased by her brother, John Coyle; and sisters: Mary Tobin (Bill), Sally Lee (Bob), Jean Oldham (Fran) and Patricia Coyle; and her lifelong friend, Barbara Durkin.

Our family is so grateful to Sheila's caregivers: Donna, Ana, Cori, Maloney, Val, Marlin, Denique and Shana.

Sheila was a kind, generous, thoughtful, honest person of integrity. Her favorite pastime was anything involving family, friends and fun! She exemplified faith, hope, love, loyalty at all costs, honesty and inclusiveness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at St. Mary Church, 26 Dodgingtown Rd., Bethel, CT.

Friends will be received from 10:00am–11:00am at St. Mary Church, 26 Dodgingtown Rd., Bethel, CT.
