A lifetime Danbury resident, he was a graduate of Danbury High School and attended Thomas Nelson Community College in VA. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a police officer, crime scene investigator and forensic specialist in Hampton, VA. After returning to Danbury, he worked in the security field and was also employed by a number of Danbury-area businesses. He was most recently employed as a security officer at Naugatuck Valley Community College. He was a Freemason/Historian and belonged to the Masonic Lodge Union #40, the Second Continental Light Dragoons and volunteered at the Danbury Museum and Historical Society. He was an avid NY Yankees and Rangers fan. In his free time he enjoyed sharing his love of colonial history and the history of Danbury with anyone who would listen.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his siblings: Deborah Roark (Al) of Hillsboro, OR, Gary Gleissner of Middlesex, VT, John Gleissner (Shari) of New Milford, CT, Donna Gleissner of Danbury, CT, Diane Ruffino (John) of New Fairfield, CT, and Glen Gleissner of Middletown, CT, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 29, 2018, from 4-8 pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, Danbury on Wednesday May 30 at 10 am. Burial will take place immediately following the mass in the State Veteran’s Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT.
