
Speros was born on December 23, 1923 in Nashua, New Hampshire, son of the late George and Zoitsa (Dimakis) Ballas. Speros was married to the late Louise (Grover) Ballas who predeceased him in 1991. He was a graduate of Norwalk High School.
Speros was the owner and founder of County Foundations, Co., pioneering the way in Fairfield County as the first contractor to create poured concrete foundations and monolithic slabs. He retired in 1988.
He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Carol Lawlor (Martin), of Bethel; his son, Robert Ballas (Charlene), of New Fairfield; his grandchildren, Stephanie Nagy (Michael), of Brookfield; Jeffrey Lawlor and Erin Lawlor of Bethel; Katherine Warner (Jon) of New Monmouth, New Jersey; Michael Ballas (Erica) of Wallingford; his great-grandchildren, Cole, Natalie and Evelyn as well as several special nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a special nephew, John and his brothers and sister; Andrew, Daniel, Julius, Irene and James.
Funeral services and interment will be at the convenience of the family.
