Steven born in New Fairfield CT, the son of Richard Klatte and the late Sally Taylor Klatte (12-30-2015) of Barefoot Bay , Florida. After graduating from New Fairfield Schools, Steven went on to study Forestry at Santa Rosa Jr. College in Santa Rosa, CA.
Steven was self-employed as a contractor in the New Fairfield area.
Steven was an avid outdoorsmen who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his nephews, nieces and his close circle of friends. Steven was known to stand his ground, emanating strength and courage. He was witty and sharp, but his sense of honesty was something to admire and cherish. Although he may have been a little rough around the edges, he lead a selfless life. He was always inclined to help his family and friends, whom he loved very deeply. He loved animals of all kinds, and there wasn’t a dog who didn’t instantly gravitate to him. He enjoyed cooking for loved ones, hosting poker nights, and being outside, especially on his hill. Anyone who knows him, has a favorite Steven story. Our memories and stories of him will live on long into the future.
Steven is survived by his father Richard Klatte, his sister Wendy Klatte of New Fairfield, his sister Shelly Klatte Yorio, husband Lou Yorio, and his nephews, Connor Yorio and Jace Yorio. His nieces, Sydney Yorio and fiancé Jake Castro, Peyton Yorio, and Avery Yorio, also of New Fairfield. Steven will also be missed by his devoted friends whom he considered his family.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
