

Tommy was born in Danbury, CT, a son of the late Edward and Margaret Griffin (nee Burke). He graduated from Danbury High School in 1976, after which he served in the U.S. Army, where he was a proud member of the 82nd Airborne Division.
In 1993, Tommy married Tina Griffin (nee Totten), and in 1997, they had their first and only child, Katie Griffin. Tommy was a loving father, and his family and his friends were very important to him.
Tommy was a building manager with Kipp Stawski Management Group in New York City. He loved working in the city and learning all about its history.
Tommy was predeceased by his brothers: Edward, David, and John Griffin; his sister, Katherine Griffin; his brother-in-law, Doug Schmid; and his sister-in-law, Laurelle Griffin.
He is survived by his daughter, Katie and her husband Ardian Rama; his sister, Debbi Schmid; his former wife, Tina; and his sisters-in-law: Robin Griffin and Kim Griffin. He was also the uncle to several nieces and nephews including: Diane Griselda, Eddie Griffin, Meghan Griffin, Alicia Griffin, Shaun Griffin, Ryan Griffin, David Griffin, Douglas Schmid, and Morgan Schmid.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at St. Mary Church, 26 Dodgingtown Rd., Bethel, CT. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury at the convenience of the family.
Friends will be received from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT.
