It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Valdemir de Santana, a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and a man of unwavering faith, who left us on November 6th, 2025. Born on June 17th, 1963, in Salvador, he lived a life marked by kindness, humility, a profound trust in God and deep love for his family. His faith was at the center of who he was, guiding him through every joy and every challenge with strength, gratitude, and grace.
He was known for his gentle heart, his generosity, and the love he showed so naturally to everyone around him. Valdemir was truly one of a kind, and you could feel his love and his heart the moment you were around him. He worked tirelessly throughout his life, not for recognition, but out of dedication to his family and a desire to give them the very best. As a husband, he was caring, loving, and deeply committed. As a father and grandfather, he was endlessly proud, always present, and loved his children and grandchildren more than anything.
He is survived by his wife, Nidia de Santana, his children Lucas de Santana, Matheus de Santana and Phillipe de Santana, his grandchildren Lincoln Santana and Benjamin Santana, and all those who were blessed to know him. He touched many lives, through his faith, his kindness, and his willingness to help others whenever he could. His legacy is one of love, service, and an unshakeable belief in the goodness of God.
Isaiah 57:1-2
"The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death."
A Gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Emanuel Church, 331 Madison Ave, Bridgeport, CT. Burial will take place in Brazil later.
The family is deeply grateful for the prayers, support, and comforting messages during this difficult time.
May he rest in God’s eternal peace.
