

Veronika Hordos, age 76, of Danbury, CT passed away at home surrounded by family on Thursday morning, April 4th. She was born in Budapest, Hungary to the late Samuel and Ilona Balogh Szanto on September 22, 1936. She emigrated from Hungary in 1956 with her late husband, Frank Hordos Sr., as her fondest wish was to start a family and begin a new life in the United States. They settled in Danbury, CT where she lived out the remainder of her life with her family and friends.
Veronika worked at Davis & Geck in Danbury, CT for over 25 years, retiring in 1994. After retiring, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She had an amazingly warm spirit and enjoyed being surrounded by family. She will be remembered for her uncanny sense of humor and quick wit, which brought happiness and laughter to those around her.
Veronika is survived by her sons: Frank Hordos Jr and his wife, Holly, of Danbury and Thomas Hordos and his wife, Sandra of Canton, GA. Her grandchildren: Frank III and wife, Sarah of Sarasota, FL, Steven of Nashville, TN, Christian and Alycia of Danbury and Blake and Marissa of Canton, GA.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western Connecticut and Barbara of the Nurses Registry for caring for her in her final days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 am at St. Peter Church, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2pm-5pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
