Some people come into your life and leave you with memories that last forever. Vinny was one of those guys.

I’ll never forget the days back in the Bronx at 1901 Mayflower Avenue. Me, Vinny, and Pete Bava would sit in my apartment playing Sega Saturn Big League Baseball from 7:00 at night until 3:00 in the morning. Night after night, we did it like we had nothing else to worry about in the world. Those were the days, and I’d give anything to go back and do it one more time.

I’ll also always remember watching Monday Night Football in the garage with the garage door open, surrounded by Alfred Loguidice, Nick Di Napoli, Pete Bava, and my brother Anthony. Those nights were filled with football, laughter, good conversation, and the kind of friendship that made even an ordinary evening feel special. Vinny was right there with us, making the night better just by being himself.

And then there was the St. Teresa’s feast, when we ran the clam stand with Nick Di Napoli. We bought bundles of clams days before the feast, and somehow they never made it into a refrigerator. But Vinny, being Vinny, thought it was a great idea to serve them anyway! We ended up serving those clams to everybody. Looking back, I don’t know whether to laugh or apologize to the entire neighborhood! 😂

That’s the kind of guy Vinny was. He made life funny. He gave us stories we’d tell over and over again, and every time we’d remember something else and laugh all over again.

But behind all the jokes and crazy ideas was a friendship that meant something. Those days in the Bronx, those late nights, the football games in the garage, and those unforgettable moments are now memories I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.

Vinny, my friend, I wish we could have one more night playing baseball until 3:00 in the morning. One more Monday Night Football game with the garage door open. One more feast. One more laugh. One more crazy idea that only you could come up with.

Life moves on, but the memories never

I am so grateful that I had you for 45 years. I wish we had more time but I know you are at peace!! You were an amazing grandpa to my girls they adored you. You will be missed but never forgotten. Until we meet again. Love you dad !!

Vinny, To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die. You will always have a place in mine. I love you and will miss you brother-in-law ❤️
