Wanda Blanche (Aranowicz) Alterisio, 82, of Danbury, passed away Thursday February 9th 2012. Wanda was born in Danbury, daughter of the late Benjamin and Stella( Kurjiaka) Aranowicz. Wanda attended Sacred Heart School and went on to graduate from Danbury High School. Before retirement, Wanda worked for many years as a healthcare worker at Brookside Rest Home. A Mother of eight children, Wanda loved her family very much. Miss A. the neighborhood Mom, as most knew her, extended her love to countless others. Wanda was a very kind-hearted and giving woman whose infectious smile will never be forgotten. In her spare time, Wanda loved to crochet blankets and read.
She is survived by her daughters Robin and Darlene, sons Daniel, Nicholas and Michael Alterisio, her granddaughter Michelle Alterisio, seven more grandchildren, nine great¬grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. All who knew her will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her husband Daniel Alterisio, daughter Denise Perillo, sons Alphonse and Ralph Alterisio, granddaughter Dina Marie Perillo, and her sister Josephine Capellaro. The family would like to thank all the staff at Danbury Healthcare for taking such loving care of Wanda.
Friends will be received on Monday, February 13th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St. Danbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday February 14th, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
