He was a beloved husband to his wife, Stephanie, with whom he shared 48 wonderful years of marriage. They faced all of life’s ups and downs as best friends and soulmates. Together, they built a life grounded in love, laughter, and unwavering partnership.
Wayne was a proud and devoted father to his daughters, Ashley and Audra, who were the light of his life. He cherished every moment spent with his girls and took great pride in the women his daughters became.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Wayne served his country with honor and dedication. Wayne loved his country and reflected fondly on his time in the service. His sense of duty and integrity remained with him throughout his life. Wayne never passed a person in veteran or active-duty attire without approaching them to say thank you and hear their story. He continued his commitment to service in his community as an active member of the Lions Club, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed generously of his time and talents.
Wayne had a lifelong passion for technology, sparked at an early age by his love of building and tinkering. Among his proudest accomplishments were assembling a color television and building his own ham radio. His passion for technology led to a career in IT.
After retiring, Wayne enthusiastically picked up seasonal work at Disney World, a place that perfectly matched his joyful spirit.
He found happiness through his family, friends, work, and various hobbies such as riding his motorcycle, antique cars, animals, music and traveling. Wayne enjoyed many things but above all he genuinely loved people. He was patient, steady, loving, and loyal. Wayne developed a life built around going out of his way and bringing joy to any and all individuals with whom he interacted. If you met Wayne, you know what it means to belly laugh. His quick wit and perfectly timed sarcasm were unmatched. He had a way of delivering a dry one-liner with a straight face, always keeping everyone on their toes. His humor was never unkind, just sharp enough to make you laugh and remind you not to take life too seriously.
He will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, compassion, and the quiet way he made those around him feel loved and supported.
For those who wish to honor his memory, please go out of your way to help someone or make them laugh. Do this for no reason other than it being the kind thing to do, for that was his way.
Wayne will be deeply missed and forever loved.
