

William D. Hoyt, of Danbury, age 82, passed away on Thursday, September 15th, 2011, at Bethel Health Care Center. He was the husband of the late Charlotte M. Hoyt and son of the late David T. and Dorothy E. Hoyt.
“Bill” was born in Norwalk and lived in the Norwalk and Wilton area for many years, prior to moving to Danbury, in 1985. Bill served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1948 to 1952, during which time he attained the rank of Sergeant. He was employed for many years in the automotive parts field. He was a fan of NASCAR, the NY Jets and enjoyed car cruises and shows, as well as restoring antique cars. He was also talented at creating woodworking crafts.
His survivors include a son David W. Hoyt of Wilton, four step children: Donald Morse of CA, Elizabeth Sample and husband Jay of Torrington, William Morse of FL and Catherine Slocum Briggs and husband Warren of Milford, seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Committal will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk, on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m.
The family would like to thank all those who helped Bill during his illness, especially his best friend Harry Albin.
