
William F. Walters, Sr., 89 of Bethel, beloved husband of the late Helen (Horan) Walters and brother of the late Frank Walters. William passed away peacefully at Bethel Health Care Center on Thursday, September 10, 2015.
William was born in Greenwich, son of the late Frank H. Bishop and Anna Matilda Walters. He graduated from Bethel High School and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps, during World War II, on the islands of Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima. He had worked for many years as a dry wall contractor and was an avid saltwater fisherman. He is survived by two sons: William F. Walters, Jr. and wife Barbara. Gary M. Walters and wife Barbara, both of Danbury. His grandchildren: Deborah Christensen and husband Mark, Jessica Granger and husband Adam and Clint Walters and wife Kelly, as well as his great granddaughter Samantha Granger.
Funeral services will be private. Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, CT., is in charge of arrangements.
