William U. Wiesner

William U. Wiesner, age 64 of New Fairfield and Manchester Center, VT, passed away peacefully on the evening of December 20, 2012, after battling leukemia for the past 19 months. He was the husband of the late Mary Anne Wiesner.

William was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador on March 1, 1948, the son of the late Gloria (Espinoza) Wiesner and the late Hedberto Wiesner. He immigrated to the United States when he was a teenager, living first in the Bronx, NY, then in Staten Island, NY. Wed to his wife Mary Anne in 1971, they moved to New Fairfield in 1983.

He was a graduate of St. John’s University, where he received both his BS in Accounting and his MBA in Finance. He began his career as a Certified Public Accountant. During a career spanning over 25 years, he worked in accounting and finance at a number of companies in the chemical industry, including Union Carbide and OSi Specialties, before retiring in 2003.

William is survived by three sons, William, of New Fairfield, Daniel, of Harrison, NY, and James, of Manchester Center, VT; two granddaughters, Madelyn and Lena, both of Harrison, NY; a brother, George, of Gilbert, AZ; and a sister, Anna Isaacs, of Tucson, AZ.

The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, on Thursday, December 27th from 4 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held at Green funeral Home on Thursday evening at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made online to the American Cancer Society, at www.cancer.org.
