Born in Bretanha, Sao Miguel, Azores a daughter of the late Joao Sousa Costa and the late Mariana Amelia Pereira she came to the United States in 1978.
A devout Catholic, she was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in New Bedford. She enjoyed gardening and had perfected her sweet bread recipe. A dedicated and loving wife, she cared for her husband for 7 years before his passing and she loved being with her family.
She is survived by her eight daughters, Isabel Reis, Rosalie Farias and her husband Dimas, Maria Fragata and her husband Jose, Natalie Fragata and her husband Octavio, Cecilia Reis, Gilda Reis and her husband Antonio, Helena Oliveira and her husband Al, and Benvinda Miranda and her husband Luis; thirteen grandchildren, Derrick and Remy Farias, Phillip, Ellie, K.J., Ryan and Neil Fragata, Kyle and Jacklyn Reis, Allyson and Adam Oliveira and Jessica and Brandon Miranda; six great-grandchildren, Percy, Giada, Talia, Lorenzo, Emma, and Nora and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her twelve siblings, including her twin, Juvelina Jeronimo.
Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 9:30 AM from WARING-SULLIVAN HOME AT DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Rivet St., New Bedford.
