Joyce A. Jason Gilson

Joyce A. (Jason) Gilson, age 70, of North Dartmouth, died June 10, 2011 as the result of an automobile accident. She was the wife of Lawrence L. “Larry” Gilson for the past 35 years and former wife of the late Ronald Medeiros.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Arnold and Sara (Raposa) Jason, she was a lifelong resident of the area. Mrs. Gilson was an Administrative Assistant for the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth until her retirement. She was a graduate of Dartmouth High School, Class of 1959, loved the ocean, boating and the beach and was an amazing cook and gardener.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa Medeiros John and her grandson, Nathaniel “Nate” John , both of Lynnfield, MA and her brother, Ronald C. Jason of North Stonington, CT.

Her service will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 11:00am in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Road Dartmouth. Her family will greet friends from 9:00 to 11:00am prior to her Service. Burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
