OBITUARY

Julia Perry Grisso

August 22, 1949January 12, 2021

Julia P. Grisso, 71, passed away peacefully at home January 12, 2021. She is survived by Frank Ferreira, her loving companion of 25 years, daughter, Heather Grisso, and grandchildren, Hannah and William Bouvier, all of Dartmouth.

Julia was born in Dartmouth to the late Joseph and Julia Ponte. She was a graduate of Dartmouth High School and went on to work at Stop & Shop where she would retire years later. It was there that she met her lifelong friends and enjoyed years of socializing with her customers and watching their families grow up.

Julia’s most treasured role in her life was loving and caring for children in her immediate, as well as, extended family. She was fondly referred to by so many as “Auntie” and proudly wore that title as her badge of honor. She will be remembered by all whose lives she touched by her sense of humor, her laughing attacks, whistling a tune like no other, enthusiasm for bargain shopping, her fierce strength to overcome, love of the beach and pools, and most of all talking and sharing with others which brought her endless joy.

In addition to, she is survived by her sisters, Phyllis Sacramento, and Pauline Arruda, her brother Joseph Ponte Jr, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Patricia Bettencourt.

Arrangements are in the care of the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME at DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth, MA 02748. Due to the current restrictions on public gatherings, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. To leave a note of condolence: www.waring-sulllivan.com

Julia was the very best babysitter for my children years ago. I can hear her telling me stories of all the silly things my kids had done, but she just smiled and came back the next time! I haven’t seen her for years, but I cherish the memories of a super awesome woman who was a big part of our lives. God bless her family and friends. Xoxo Joanne, Wayne, Allison, Sara and Amy

Mrs. Grisso... my second mom❤️ Not sure anyone will as be as interested in my life and well being as she was. Her words of wisdom and love in each and every interaction, no matter how short or casual, will stay with me for always. Thank you for years of support, laughs and great conversations.... xoxo
