

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Adelard and Athaise (Dumont) Bernier, she previously lived in New Bedford before moving to Dartmouth.
Lillian was a Supervisor and retiree of Cornell Dubilier Co. She enjoyed knitting sweaters for her grandchildren and spending many loving hours with all her family.
She is survived by a daughter, Janice Cournoyer and her husband Roger of Dartmouth; a son, Ron Yates and his wife Barbara of New Bedford; a brother, Donat Bernier and his wife Jessie of Dartmouth; two sisters, Doris Ponte of Florida and Annette Bernardo of New Bedford; four grandchildren, Ashlie Yates of Vermont, Laurie Girard and her husband Daniel of Wisconsin, Karen Lesieur and her husband Ed of Rhode Island and Lynn Medeiros and her husband Richard of Freetown; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Ida and Anita.
Lillian’s family would like to thank the staff of the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home for their care and compassion.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 8 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth, followed by her funeral mass at 9 AM in St. Mary’s Church, 783 Dartmouth St., Dartmouth.
