

Mary P. (Furtado) Marshall, 97, of New Bedford died Saturday, April 16, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late John Marshall and also wife of the late Frank Froias.
Born in St. Michael Azores, a daughter of the late Antonio and Gloria (Periera) Furtado, she came to the United States in 1951 and settled in New Bedford. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in New Bedford. Mrs. Marshall was a homemaker and also worked as a weaver for the Hathaway Mills in New Bedford. She was a member of Mt. Pio Club, the oldest club in New Bedford, and was its oldest living member.
Surviving are three sons: Moises P. Frois and his late wife Clelia of No. Dartmouth, John F. Froias and his late wife Jane of New Bedford and Antonio J. Froias and his wife Claire of New Bedford; daughter-in-law Ellen Pimental of Wareham and former daughter-in-law Luisa Pavao of New Bedford; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late Joseph P. Frois.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Mass on Monday, April 25, 2011 at 9am in St. George Church, 12 Highland Ave., Westport. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to South Coast Hospice and Palliative Care, 200 Mill Rd., Fairhaven, MA 02719 would be greatly appreciated.
