

Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Louis M. and Laura (Gonsalves) Talarico. She attended Kinyon Campbell Business School.
Mrs. Costa had worked as the Conservation Secretary for the Town of Dartmouth for over 30 years until her retirement.
Rita was a talented artist who created amazing pieces of art work. She enjoyed woodworking and furniture making.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, Wayne Hemenway and his wife Leann of Monument, Colorado and Sheilarey Swallow and her husband Shawn of Dartmouth; a step-daughter, Sheri Francis and her husband Thomas of New Bedford; her siblings, Louise Klugh, Susan Lapointe, William Talarico, Kathy Gilman and Randy Gilman; three grandchildren, Bryan Swallow, Austin Francis and Chase Francis; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Louis M. Talarico, Jr. and her step-daughter, Arlene Matos.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 9-11:30 a.m. in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth followed by burial in South Dartmouth Cemetery.
