Born in New Bedford, he was the son of Manuel and Mary (Costa) Macedo. He lived in Fairhaven and New Bedford until he was 14 years old and then moved to Dartmouth in 1983. He attended New Bedford Vocational High School and worked as a mechanic at Park Motors and was co-owner of M&M Auto until his retirement in 2005. He loved to bowl, play computer games, go camping and spend time with his family.
Survivors include a daughter Gina Melo of Acushnet, a son Tom Oliveira and his wife Tami of Dartmouth, his son–in-law Daniel, a brother Bob Macedo of New Bedford, five children from his previous marriage; Bruce, Janice, Lisa, Christopher, Kathy, seven grandchildren; Britney, Marc, Jasmine, Taylor, Chelsie, Darian, Jaiden, a great- grandchild, Johnathan and several nieces and nephews.
His visitation will be Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 5pm to 8pm at the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth. A graveside service will be held in St. John's Cemetery at 10 am on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. For tributes and directions: www.waring-sullivan.com
