

Phillips Amy M. - 87 of Dartmouth passed away November 22, 2011 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Halifax she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Hazel (Borgal) Abriel. Amy moved to Halifax as a child, graduated from the Halifax School of Nursing and nursed in Boston before returning to Halifax. Following the death of her husband Don she held several nursing positions settling at the Halifax Infirmary for the final 25 years of her career. Following her retirement she did volunteer work for the Red Cross, and remained active for a number of years at All Saints Woman’s Auxiliary. Amy was also an avid bowler and bridge player. Family and friends meant a lot to Amy and she was always happy when surrounded by those she loved and cared for. Surviving are son Donald A. sister Gwen McKenney, Truro. She was predeceased by her loving husband Donald. Visiting 2-4 6-8 Monday Nov. 28, 2011 in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, Portland St. Dartmouth. A memorial service will be held 1pm Tuesday Nov. 29, 2011 in Cathedral Church of All Saints, Dean Paul Smith officiating. Burial to follow in Mount Hermon Cemetery , family flowers only, donations to Canadian Cancer Society. or Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
