Bernard John "Bernie" Fallows

Fallows, Bernard John "Bernie" - Age 79 of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully at Melville Lodge on March 26. Bernie, the son of the late Bernard and Alice Fallows was born in Somerset, MB and raised in Winnipeg. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 51 years, Norma (MacLellan), sons John (children Alexander and Julia), Glen (Shelley and children Catherine and Michael) and David (Maya and children Nicholas, Thomas and Daniel). Bernie spent his entire career as a loyal employee of Air Canada for 37 years. He started as an aircraft mechanic, and after completion of his B.A. at Sir George Williams University in Montreal spent the balance of his career in finance until his retirement as the Regional Finance Manager of Atlantic Canada. He was very active with The Kiwanis Club of Dartmouth where he served as President and Secretary, and served on the executive of Air Canada Pionairs. He was an active member of St Andrew's Presbyterian Church. He particularly enjoyed leisure time spent each summer with the family at the cottage at Sandy Bottom Lake where as a loving father and grandfather enjoyed taking the grandchildren for rides in the boat, walks in the woods, fishing off the wharf and campfires at night. His warm, friendly personality and easy smile will be remembered by all. The family would wish to thank the workers with the Northwood Home Care Program and particularly the amazing staff at Melville Lodge for their excellent and loving care during his stay there. Visitation will be held at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 216 School St in Dartmouth on Sunday March 29 from 6-8pm. Funeral service will also be held at St Andrew's Presbyterian on March 30th at 11 am, Rev. Dr. P. A. Sandy McDonald officiating.
