
Carrie was involved with Literacy from 1986-1992 and she graduated from high school in 1992 at the age of 42. She was the Literacy Representative of Nova Scotia, which took her across Canada to talk to people who wanted to learn to read. Carrie was a valued member of the Baha’i community of Halifax and contributed to many community activities.
She is survived by her sons, Douglas Smith (the third) of Dartmouth, and Paul Price Jr., of Kentville; daughters, Tina Smith and Nena Smith both of Dartmouth; brother William Page Jr. (Patricia) of Kennecook; sister, Estelle Page of Vancouver; grandson, Ali Moses Smith and two nephews.
Carrie was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Smith Jr. and brother, Robert Page.
Visitation will be held from 10-11am on Monday August 27, 2012 followed by a memorial service at 11am in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth. Burial to follow in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Literacy programs in Nova Scotia.
