BOYD, C. Jean – 96 of Dartmouth, died on October 2, at Ocean View Continuing Care Centre in Eastern Passage. Born in North Sydney, she was the daughter of Frank & Stella (Holmes) Crewe. She is survived by a son, Ran in Saskatchewan, two sisters: Betty Boutilier of Coxheath and Allison MacKay of Kenora, Ont., a daughter-in-law, JoAnne, and two granddaughters, Emily and Jasmine. She was predeceased by two sons, Lee and Ken and by three brothers, Ross, Frank and Fraser. For many years, she was a CNIB caseworker in N S and PEI visiting and giving support to visually impaired children and their families. She was very active in St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Dartmouth for over 45 years, serving as an elder, choir member, Board member, offerings secretary, and Vacation Bible School helper; she founded the St Andrew’s Church Men’s Kilted Choir, directing it for 20 years. Jean was very active for many years in The Atlantic Mission Society of The Presbyterian Church in Canada. She enjoyed knitting and cross stitching. A Memorial service with Rev P.A. McDonald officiating will be held at a later date at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 216 School St., Dartmouth B3A-2Y4 to which Memorial donations can be made.
