Nixon, Dorothy Marguerite, 68, of Halifax passed away suddenly on October 29, 2017 in the Halifax Infirmary Site of the QEII. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late George and Marguerite (Burns) Nixon. Dorothy is survived by her love, Danny Findlay; 3 sons, Robert (Crystal Walsh) Merlin, Paul Murphy (Nathalie Steenbergen), and Troy Straight; 1 step-son; 4 step-daughters; Brother, George; 2 sisters, Paulette Charron and Marilyn Nixon Cameron; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by Bobby Fielding, Shirley Merrigan, Sharon Fielding and Patsy Nixon. She is remembered as a kind soul, who was passionate about country music, social media, her animals and providing love to her large family. With a proud smile on her face, Dorothy always enjoyed her grandchildren or great-grandchildren sitting with her. She loved her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her heart and soul. She couldn’t stop beaming with pure joy and happiness when they were around. She also loved her dog Chico, and her extra large French Vanilla double cupped from Timmies (lol). Please join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, November 11, at 1pm in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 10th from 6-8pm in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home.
