Putnam, Douglas H. – 83 of Dartmouth passed away peacefully at home Monday September 3, 2012 with his family at his side. Born in Lower Onslow was the eldest son of Lewis H. and Mary B. (McFetridge) Putnam. After high school he joined the RCAF working on the Shoran Navigational System across the north. He followed this with a long career in telecommunications, crossing the country with a number of firms. He was an avid model railroader, computer, and geneology enthusiast. He leaves behind his daughter Kathy and son Neil. Brother Al (Joan), Truro, sister-in-law Sheila Putnam, Dartmouth, Edith Dupas (The Pas, Man.,), and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his adoring and ever present feline companion Figgy. He was predeceased by his wife Pat and brother Ken. Visitation at A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, 2-4 pm , Sunday, Sept 9, 2012. Family flowers only. In memory, donations may be made to the V.O.N. or the At Home Palliative Care Team.
He was a great guy and we miss him so much!
