OBITUARY
Edith Mary Ebsary
May 17, 1922 – December 25, 2020
EBSARY, Edith (Fowlow) - Age 98, of Eastern Passage, NS, passed away peacefully very early Christmas morning, her favourite day of the year. Edith was born in Trinity East, NL. She graduated from Memorial College and was a public-school teacher. She married her husband, the Rev. George Ebsary and served with him in ministry in six Anglican parishes through the years in MB, PEI and NS. She enjoyed singing and playing hymns and was active in the Eastern Star and ACW. Edith enjoyed company dropping by; the teapot was always on and she was known for her wonderful baking and Sunday dinners. She was very proud of her sons. She will be sadly missed by Edwin and Monica Ebsary, their daughters Rachel and Bridget (Dartmouth), Arthur and Maureen Ebsary (Eastern Passage) and their son Donald and Kristen Ebsary (Ottawa). She cherished her extended family, including nieces and nephews. The family is very grateful for the nurses and staff at Glasgow Hall at Shannex for their exceptional care of Edith. Due to COVID restrictions, there will be a private funeral service at the Anglican Church of the Holy Spirit for immediate family. Edith will be laid to rest beside her husband in Chester, where they had served. Donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, PWRDF or a charity of your choice. Condolences to Edwin and Arthur and their families from Fay and me. I remember Aunt Edith with her quick and spontaneous laugh at family gatherings as a boy visiting Trinity East. The last time I spoke with her by telephone, that laugh was still present as ever, after more than 90 years, perhaps a lesson on longevity for us all.

Aunt Edith will long be remembered by Davis and I, for her laughter, our shared joy in a good joke, her delicious baking and cooking, her love of a new outfit and our love for each other. She visited us in Stephenville many times while Gramps (her brother Guy) lived with us and we visited her when we were in Nova Scotia. She was a great source of information about Trinity East and its people and my memories of her, Uncle George, Edwin and Arthur, visiting Uncle Don while we were across the street at her childhood home, will always bring me peace. Rest easy Aunt Edith. Love from Davis and I.

I was saddened to read of Edith's recent passing. She and my mom (Kitty Isnor) were great friends throughout the years. They met when her husband, George was the minister at St. Matthias Church and continued with that friendship for many years until my mom's passing in 2008. They talked daily on the phone and got together whenever possible. Rest in peace, Edith.

Edith a very kind, and caring lady. When I first met you, your laugh was so contagious. You reached out your hand, and asked if you could touch my curly hair. I enjoyed taking you for walks when I could, and when the weather was warm. You loved the sun, and your Tim Horton’s that your niece brought for you. In the winter you always talked of Christmas with your family, and how much you loved your snowman figure. You often spoke of Newfoundland, and I said some day I will get there...I will, and I will think of you! May you dance amongst the angels, and with your husband, you are at peace now . Always in my heart.
