Eugene Stanley Krol

Krol, Eugene Stanley (Joe) of Dartmouth, passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 in his 83rd year ,surrounded by his family. He was born December 3, 1928 in Windsor, Ontario to Stanley and Frances Krol, recently from Poland. He was predeceased by both parents and his brother Robert. After high school, Joe served in the RCAF (1949-1956) before joining Honeywell Controls Ltd., in Montreal. He moved to Halifax in 1964, where he remained a valued employee of Honeywell. After retiring, continued to serve as a consultant for the company. Joe was a talented woodworker, and his family are proud owners of the furniture he crafted. In retirement years he concentrated on model building, growing tomatoes and wine making. He was also an avid reader. A devoted husband ,a generous father , a loving grandfather, Joe is survived by his wife of sixty years Joan (nee Desserud) ; his son Kenneth of Dartmouth; his daughters Dawn of Halifax ,and Carol ( Fredrick Ulmer)of Calgary; his grandchildren Arwen ( Justin) McCaffrey of Spokane, Washington; Linnet Humble (Jean-Philippe Ranger) of Frederiction; Elspeth Humble( Sean Higgins)of Halifax; Meade Humble of Halifax; Rowan Humble of Halifax; Sam Ulmer-Krol and Ben Ulmer-Krol of Calgary . He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Bronwen and Atticus Klein, and Theoden and Declan McCaffery, all of Spokeane ,Washington. No services by request. Arrangements entrusted to A.L.
