Frank was born in Cow Bay on September 7, 1932, to the late Helen (Conrad) and Percy Osborne.
Frank was a great human being who loved life and people. He always took time to greet you with a smile that brightened your day. He had many good friends and was especially close to his lifelong friend John Guildford, and nephew Robert Pepler. They enjoyed many great times and adventures over the years.
He loved playing music with his group M3 and spent many happy hours strumming a tune. He was a lifetime member of the Austenville Owl’s Club where he enjoyed playing many games of crib. Frank enjoyed curling at the Dartmouth Curling Club and helped with the organization of multiple tournaments over the years. As an avid golfer he was especially proud of his three holes-in-one.
Frank worked for Ultramar for many years and through his hard work he reached the position of Operations Manager of the Eastern Passage refinery. A position he retired from in the 1990’s. Frank had a strong work ethic and he soon decided retirement wasn’t for him, so he returned to work for his second career with the Nova Scotia government. After working for years with the government he decided to branch out and operate his own business inspecting pressure vessels. This kept him busy travelling throughout the Atlantic Region and he kept working until 2008, when a health situation reluctantly forced him to retire.
Frank was predeceased by his parents, wife Gwen, son Richard, daughter in law Carol Osborne, sisters Helen, Margaret McKillop, Evelyn Pepler, brother Murray Osborne, sister-in-law Iris Osborne, brothers in law Fred Colbert, Elroy McKillop, Murdock McRae, Ian Pepler and Michael Bembridge.
He is survived by spouse Judy Camp, sisters Rita Colbert and Marion Bembridge, granddaughter Catherine Osborne, step-son Chris Camp (Maureen), step-granddaughter Siobhan Camp (Pierre Luc) and many nieces and nephews.
We would like to express our gratitude to Sheilagh Henry from Home Instead for her assistance and the many hours she spent with Frank over the last three years. Thank you to Parkland staff for their kind and compassionate care of Frank.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 1:00 pm from Woodlawn United Church, 54 Woodlawn Rd, Dartmouth followed by a reception in the hall.
