
Frank Haines 78, of Dartmouth, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Glades Lodge. Born in Bonavista Bay, NFLD, he was a son of the late Robert and Alfreda (Pike) Haines and the last living member of his family. Frank will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 56 years Jean (Dyke) Haines and his children Lynn (Malcolm) Macpherson of Truro, Renee Haines, and Debbie (David) Stevens all of Dartmouth. He will also be fondly remembered by his five grandchildren, Andrew, Nancy (Cale), Peter, Carolyn and Sarah. Frank was predeceased by a daughter, Carol. Frank will be remembered not only for his 35+ years with Gulf Oil Ltd/ Ultramar Ltd. but for his contributions to the community. His love of woodworking led to being the Founder and Past President of the Atlantic Tool Collectors Association. He served as Church Warden for both All Saints Anglican Church in Riverview, NB and Church of the Holy Spirit in Dartmouth, NS. Also, formerly as King Lion of the East Dartmouth Lions Club and Past Master of the Masonic Acadia Lodge. He served in the Royal Newfoundland Regiment as Pay Master. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 6th, at Church of the Holy Spirit, 1 Regency Dr., Dartmouth with Rev. E. Ebsary officiating. Interment will take place Monday, November 7th at 11:00 a.m. at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens, Main St., Dartmouth.
