Gerald was predeceased by his wife Roseanne Marie, and brother Hubert Ede.
He is survived by his brothers, Albert (Sheila) Ede, Kalvin (Julie) Ede, David (Sue) Ede, and sisters, Ellen (Bob), and Liz (Tim).
Gerald had a kind heart and generous spirit. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to whoever needed it whether it was through small everyday acts or larger gestures. He loved to play the drums in his earlier years, especially if it was with his sister, Ellen, and her band.
Gerald's family would like to give a very heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Melville Lodge in Halifax where Gerald spent his last year. Their unwavering support and compassionate care played an essential role in Gerald's life. Their dedication and kindness not only ensured his comfort, but his family's as well.
To honour Gerald's life, a service will be held at a later date.
