

Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late, William and Christine (O'Handley) MacMullin.
Herk lead a very active life. He owned his own body shop for a number of years, Herky's Autobody and then went on to work for MacIntyre Chev Olds, Sydney, retiring in 1999. He loved the outdoors, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a fantastic skater and played baseball with the Glace Bay Antonians. He was a member of St. Anthony's Church, Glace Bay.
Survived by his loving wife, of 55 years, Geraldine (MacIntyre); children, Gerard Jr., Vancouver, Natalie Ehler (Dwayne), Halifax, Nancy Mariotti (Carlo), Dartmouth; treasured grandchildren, Adam, Ryan, and Alanah Mariotti; brother, William MacMullin, Eastern Passage; sisters, Norma LeBlanc, Glace Bay; Beverley MacNeil (Gussie), Glace Bay; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law and husband, Jean and Paddy Egan and their son, Craig and his family all from Ontario; and his faithful companion, a Yorkie "Little Sidney Crosby".
Predeceased by his sister, Jean Young.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, Dartmouth. A funeral mass will be held 9:30 AM Monday, April 19 at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Dartmouth.
