

Adams, Harold, 92, of Dartmouth/ Southampton. A loving, devoted family man passed away on Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Springhill on February 4, 1922 he was a son of the late Robert and Carrie Adams of Southampton, NS.
A quiet man by nature, who enjoyed his family and shared many good times at the Maple Sugar Woods with friends and the wonderful gatherings at the family home.
He retired from the Department of Transportation, Miller Lake, after 30 years of service. Then he was a casual employee of O’Regans Motor Dealership, where he enjoyed delivering cars to various parts of the province. Later, he developed his carving skills and has shared many of his works of art with family and friends. He was a former charter member of the Knights of Pythias and a former member of the United Golden K’s Woodlawn. For many years he was an active member of the Stardusters Square Dancing club and a member of Woodlawn United Church.
He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 59 years, Queenie (Gilbert) Adams; daughter, Shelley; and his precious grandsons, Conner and Tyler Andrews; sisters Anna and Hilda of Southampton; sisters-in-law, Betty and Thelma; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Jim (Nellie), Gerald (Marie), Hughie (Zillah) and Cecil; sister, Mary (Len); nephews, Keith and Bob Adams.
Cremation has taken place under the care of A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth. Funeral service will be 2pm Friday December 19, 2014 in Woodlawn United Church. Rev. Valerie Kennedy officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment will be at a later date in Southampton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Woodlawn United Church Kitchen Fund, Southampton Cemetery Fund, Palliative Care of the Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation or a charity of choice.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the Palliative Care at home, the nurses and doctors of Palliative care at the Dartmouth General, Dr. Moriarty, Rev. Phillip and Valerie Kennedy, for the many prayers and to our church family for their support at this difficult time and the loving support from friends and neighbors.
