Harold was the last living child of Harold and Margaret Colquhoun, leaving behind a legacy that will forever echo through generations, and husband of Kathleen “Kay” (Caruso). He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Margaret Colquhoun, his sisters, Jean Colquhoun (Honegger) and Evelyn Colquhoun (Vickers), his son Scott Warner Colquhoun; daughter-in-law Corrie Ann Violet Colquhoun and cousin Seymour Colquhoun.
Along with his wife, Kay, Harold is survived by daughter, Gail of Dartmouth, NS; his son, Mark of Sarnia, ON; grandchildren, Daniel, Jordan, Naomi, Nathan, Genevieve and Chance; great-granddaughter, Gabby as well as nieces and nephews, Wayne Vickers, Sharon Vickers, Nancy Vickers, Deana Bulley (Honegger), Hans Honegger, and Cheryl Honegger.
Dad found the love of his life while in the army before crossing the ocean and landing on Juno beach. He returned and married mom and earned an engineering degree where he worked for Imperial Oil all through his career. Dad devoted his life in marriage to his 3 children and raised his first grandson Daniel Joseph Colquhoun as his own son.
With deepest gratitude the family is so thankful to the staff at Camp Hill where dad and mom have resided these last 5 years.
Special thanks to daughter Gail and George Peter LeRoy, Dads Careworker who made mom and dad's life so much better in these last years and days as he lovingly made those trips to see that mom and dad’s needs were being met. Dad always said he would not know what he would do without George Peter.
In honor of Harold’s memory, visitation will be held on Saturday, Nov 4th from 2 pm to 4 pm at A.L Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth, NS. Burial will take place on Friday, November 17 at 1pm in Mount Hermon Cemetery, Victoria Road, Dartmouth.
The family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
We find comfort in the words of Matthew 25:21, “Well done, good and faithful servant. Welcome home.”
