

Richardson, Harry Bertram. – At the age of 93 passed away on November 9, 2011 in the Veterans’ Memorial Hospital, Halifax NS. Born in Pembroke, Ont., he was the son of the late Bertram Randolph and Helen Smith (Pringle) Richardson. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of over 65 years, Katherine “Isabel” (Fletcher); daughter Donna (Denis Riordan); sister, Margaret (Charles Stuart) of Strathroy, Ont; brother Norman of Hawkesbury, Ont. and many beloved nieces and nephews. During World War II Harry served five years overseas as a gunner with the 14th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Army. After the war he had a 45 year career with Northern Telecom in Trois Rivieres, Quebec, Montreal and Halifax. He was a Rotarian for over 40 years with the Rotary Clubs of Halifax and Halifax NorthWest. In addition, as a member of Ashburn Golf Course, he was proud that he played golf into his 90th year, even though he never shot his age. He was devoted to his wife and family and was a loyal and true friend. Cremation has taken place. By request, there will be no visitation. A service and reception to celebrate his life will be held at Bethany United Church, 7171 Clinton Ave., Thursday, 17 November, 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethany United Church.
